Universal Free Meals

Universal Free Meals

Gaylord Community Schools provides well-balanced, nutritious and healthy meals each day for students.  GCS students ability to learn is affected by the nutritious meals they eat. All public schools in Michigan will continue to offer universal breakfast and lunch during the 2024-25 school year for all students, continuing a program that began in 2023. The state has allocated $200 million for the program, which will save families an estimated $850 per year

Even though meals will be provided for free, it is extremely important for families to complete the Education Benefits Online application in order for Gaylord Community Schools to receive full access to federal and state funding for education programs that support our students.

Please complete the Education Benefits Online application or return the printable version to the Board of Education Office located at 615 South Elm Avenue, Gaylord, Michigan 49735.

If you have any questions, please contact GCS Director of Food Service, Michelle Kimmel at (989)705-3040.
