The Gaylord Youth Support Program provides access to behavioral health therapy for students at Gaylord Intermediate, North Ohio and South Maple Elementary Schools. It is a collaboration between Alcona Health Center, the Health Department and Gaylord Community Schools.

Alcona Health Department
Rachael Wilhelm is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Grand Valley State University, and her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Spring Arbor University. She has ten years of experience in child welfare, school, community-based, and clinical settings. Rachael has skills in providing individual and group therapy. She has worked with adults, children, and adolescents with a variety of mental illnesses, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, personality disorders, and chronic mental illness. She also has experience working with individuals that have developmental disabilities.
Rachael has training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy, Mindfulness, Grief/Loss and Parent Management Training-Oregon Model. She is a member of the American Counseling Association. Rachael strongly believes in the value and potential of each person. She looks forward to working with the students, staff, and families of Gaylord Community Schools.
Rachael was born and raised in northern Michigan and continues to live in the area with her family. She likes spending time with her family, going on adventures and enjoys the outdoors.
